About Courtney King Attorney - Indianapolis Attorney and Former Public Defender
An attorney at Ice Miller LLP of Indianapolis, Indiana since 2011, Courtney King advises business clients on employment law. Courtney King also represents them in labor dispute cases as well as litigation and administrative proceedings. She has appeared in federal and state courts and before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and state administrative agencies.
King previously worked as a defense lawyer for the Marion County Public Defender Agency in Indianapolis. She appeared in Marion County Superior Court on behalf of indigent defendants, representing them in trials and advising them regarding diversions and plea agreements offered by prosecutors.
A cum laude graduate of the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville in Kentucky, King served as the notes editor on the school’s law review and held the post of executive vice president with the Black Law Students Association. During the summer of 2008, she interned at Wyatt Tarrant & Combs LLP, where she conducted legal research in several areas of commercial law. She belongs to several professional organizations, including the National Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
